Pat and Yee came the the United States 17 years ago from Thailand seeking a new life full of freedom and opportunities they could never have dreamed of in their home country of Thailand.
Instead they found themselves in Los Angeles. After 5 years of serving the LA area with exceptional Thai food, they grew tired of such a bustling city and they decided to move to a small community in Idaho.
It was then, six years ago, that they opened up their second restaurant Pat’s Thai Kitchen and brought traditional Thai cuisine to the Boise area. Most of the dishes found on the menu are from Pat’s grandmother who taught him how to cook as a child in rural Thailand. Yee’s family was well known in Thailand for their curry pastes and she brings the experience of three generations of artisans to the restaurant. Their sucess with the restaurant has been so great that to this day there are still no Thai restaurants in Idaho that can rival the exceptional quality of Pat’s Thai Kitchen!

Sizzling Beef is amazing. I love peanut sauce. The sizzle is a lot of fun too. One of the reasons this place is so good is because the owners are the cooks. They don’t want to hand over the important stuff to just anyone.

Good thai food is hard to find in Boise. As a California native, I take the hunt for good green curry quite seriously. It pleases me greatly to report that Pat’s Thai fits the bill. The food is no-nonsense. Flavorful, clean dishes with no frills or distraction. The pad kee mao (spicy noodles with basil, onion and meat) makes my nose run and my taste buds leap. The tom kai gai, (traditional coconut soup with ginger) has got a subtle spice to it that tricks me, every time, into eating an entire pot to myself. The green curry is the house favorite, made fresh and often sold out. But the red, yellow, or mussman (my personal favorite) are excellent alternatives. Pat’s Thai is a family business and Pat himself can usually been seen cooking away. The beer list is good, and the waiters are eager to explain unfamiliar dishes.

Delicious Pad Thai. The BBQ chicken is outstanding and so is the coconut rice with shrimp. You honestly cant order a bad meal here. Close to the park. Take out or dine in.
